The Office of Student Life at Habib University has officially begun its Club Membership Drive. Open to all students of the university, this program offers a total of 30 Clubs & Chapters.
Clubs and Chapters
1. Adventure Club:
Engraved with the thrill of adventure, the mad rush of adrenaline, and an everlasting experience of a lifetime, Habib Adventure Club brings you the chance to expand your horizons within a
journey through excitement – packed with the sophistication of trekking, the rush of scuba diving
and delight in activities such as camping, hiking, and jet-skiing.
2. Multiverse Club:
Sometimes you are passionate about something but you do not know who to share it with.
Therefore, we have built a platform where the fandoms can come together; where you can
express yourself, share your passions and explore new ones.
3. Araaish e Khayal
It is a student-led club whose aim is to organize literary as well as entertaining events for
students and faculty for the promotion of Urdu Literature and nurture young Urdu writers
within the Habib Community. The club proposes to organize workshops, talks, mushaira, and
nishists to provide students with a platform to know more and experience Urdu literature.
4. Arts and Cultural Club:
The main aim of the Habib Art and Cultural Club is to find the hidden creativities and passion
for the culture of the students through their art. The club not only works for the students who
already have creative skills but also provides assistance to those who are eager to learn. The
club aims at providing confidence and a safe space to students so they can show their creativity
and potential to everyone. It also exhibits diversity and inclusivity by incorporating various
multicultural activities on campus.
5. Computer Science and Engineering Club:
Computer Science and Engineering Club at Habib University promotes scientific events
indulging students in application-based activities that help improve their understanding and
interest in STEM fields.
6. Debate Union:
The Habib University Debate Union provides students with a platform to go into different
formats of public speaking such as Parliamentary Debates and Model United Nations,
competing in public speaking events all over Pakistan. Along with this, weekly training sessions
and practice debates are conducted at Habib to make members better prepared for
tournaments and have a good idea about how to improve their speaking skills.
7. Dream Stage:
At Dream Stage, we hope to bring out hidden talent through plays and theater performances
where students can express and display their talent to the maximum. It is important to do this
not only through conducting plays but also through theater workshops and acting classes so
that student is not restricted and can freely express themselves in all spheres that include;
acting, singing, dancing, writing, and directing.
8. Entrepreneurship Club:
The Entrepreneurship Club is a learning-by-doing environment where students can cultivate
their entrepreneurship skills. This club serves to channel this entrepreneurial mindset in Habib
students, regardless of their experiences.
9. Gaming Club:
The club's purpose is to promote the culture of gaming into a more socially acceptable form of
recreation and entertainment and to explore, play and discuss interactive media such as video
games, role-playing games, and electronic games.
10. Healthy Life Club:
The Healthy Life Club is for people who want to make health and personal development a
priority. It is for members of the HU Community who find themselves prioritizing things that steal
their energy, their joy, their inspiration, their power, and their well-being, hence helping them
improve the lifestyle and overall health.
11. Habib Feminist Collective:
Habib University promotes diversity and encourages women's leadership and participation in
student activities including clubs. HFEM engages these values by starting channels of
conversation and engaging in varied forms of activism. We are co-creating a culture of not just
tolerance and acceptance of diversity, but pluralism where a student body of diverse gender
identities, racial, religious, and ethnic groups engage with one another in a healthy fashion that
fosters love, consciousness, empathy, and thoughtful self-cultivation.
12. Mouseequi:
Mouseequi aims to promote and nurture the young talent we have on campus and provide them
with a space to learn music inclusive of all genres. With new people on board, Mouseequi hopes
to continue the efforts in promoting music and diversity.
13. Natural Science Club:
Natural Science Club is a student-led club that has the vision to promote research interest in
students of Habib University significant fields of sciences of 21st century i.e. Natural Sciences.
The club aims to holds sessions in which students can have various activities focused upon
different natural science fields such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, etc.
14. Photography Club:
Photography Club is a blend of people who want to capture and create beauty. The club aims to
create opportunities for every student to discover the artist within themselves. It also gives
them the platform to paint their dreams into reality. Photography Club aims to provide a
supportive environment for interested photography students to share their creativity,
knowledge, and passion for photography.
15. Purple Lion Productions:
Purple Lion Productions is a film production club that aims to provide a platform to all students
interested in the Film and Television Industry. In the club, members will be given the
opportunity to express their creativity and produces videos according to their visions.
16. Pride Press:
Pride Press was initiated with the intention of giving the student body of Habib University a
much-needed voice, as well as to encourage creativity and collaboration amongst the
community. Their ambition is to encourage students to actively engage as members of the
community, through whichever medium they best feel comfortable in, helping to create an atmosphere that is cooperative, imaginative, and promotes critical thinking.
17. Raqs:
The purpose of this organization is to provide a platform for any dance-related activities, to
hone abilities, and showcase talent. All sorts of dance forms shall be covered and given due
representation under this club. Further, this club aims to break the conventional stereotypes
related to dance and use dance as a form of expression to materialize social and cultural norms.
18. SerVe Club:
The true worth of our lives lies in our ability to be of service to others”. The Serve Club was
created with the aim to promote a sense of service within and beyond the Habib University
community. We believe that through service, not only can we empower the society but also
ourselves to become better individuals every day. Our club was initiated in 2014 and has been
working for various different sectors such as education, health, environment, and the general
well-being of the university’s community and domestic staff. The club not only carries out
meaningful projects and events through the semester but also work to make sure that they have
a sustainable and lasting impact. We are also open to collaboration with external initiatives and
NGOs to have a widespread and greater impact on society.
19. Sports and Recreational Club:
The club aims to create a platform for those interested in pursuing sports and being a part of
sporting events at the university level by way of, but not confined to organizing sporting events
and tournaments, creating teams to represent the university, communicating with other
institutions in order to coordinate with reference to tournaments in which university teams
might participate and organize team practices in accordance with Habib University’s
schedule.
20. Sustainability Club:
Sustainability Club is connecting with students who are interested in learning about sustainable
practices they can apply to their own lives. In addition, we hope to raise more awareness about
making our school an eco-friendlier environment. By involving the Habib community in various
activities related to waste reduction, recycling, and composting education, the Sustainability club hopes to bring a reduction in the carbon footprint of each member of the community.
21. Young Leaders Club:
Young Leaders Club is a unique forum for members to exchange ideas and best practices and
develop new approaches. This platform encourages its members to use their expertise and
experience to inspire leaders of the future. It focuses on various types of leadership and
helping youth develop their leadership skills.
Official Chapters of External Organizations:
1. Brain.Hack Chapter:
Brain.Hack(), is a chapter of ACM and aims to promote activities related to Computer Science to
serve the Habib community by equipping them with valuable skills and inspiring them by
showcasing the far-reaching applications of Computer Science through, competition, not just
programming and tech talks.
2. HU Artificial Intelligence Chapter:
HUAIC is an official chapter of Pakistan Artificial Intelligence and constantly works to provide
opportunities to its members in activities such as workshops, industry visits, talks, and much
more. Our platform allows for a whole spectrum of talent from beginner to expert to join and
learn from our club. Artificial Intelligence is one of the fastest-growing sects of Computer
Science. In the west 38% of jobs can be affected by AI in the next 15 years, this percentage is much bigger in developing countries like Pakistan. The purpose of HUAIC is to educate and allow the next generation of leaders to think about the potential pros and cons of AI in the modern world, and to have the appropriate means to approach AI for the inevitable day it enters their life.
3. Women in Science and Engineering Chapter (WiSE):
WiSE, is an official chapter of Pakistan Women in Computing (PWiC) and promotes women in
STEM fields. This organization provides women at Habib University the opportunity to manage
events on a large scale to promote awareness of STEM fields, primarily at a secondary level
where students have yet to choose their fields and specifically in public schools where there is
not as much exposure. By viewing empowering movies, participating in events, conducting
workshops, meeting women who have done well in STEM fields, and just providing support to
those girls studying science subjects, whether as a major or minor or even otherwise, members
of WiSE will have the skills to make a difference when they go out in the real world too.
4. United Nations Association of Pakistan:
UNAP provides young people a chance to contribute to the human and economic development
in Pakistan by promoting the global agenda of Sustainable Development, set by the United
Nations (UN). Its aim: scale up global, regional, and national actions to meet young people’s
needs, realize their rights, and tap their possibilities as agents of change.
The strategy is ambitious. It will guide the UN system in stepping up support for the
empowerment of young people, while ensuring that the Organization’s work fully benefits from
their insights and ideas.
5. World Wild Life Fund:
WWF-Pakistan aims to conserve nature and ecological processes by preserving genetic, species,
and ecosystem diversity, ensuring that the use of renewable natural resources is sustainable,
both now and in the longer term; and promoting action to reduce pollution and the wasteful
exploitation and consumption of resources and energy.
6. Youth Centre for Research:
The Youth Center for Research (YCR) is a youth-led think tank, established to encourage and
engage youth in research, dialogue, policy analysis, and advice on a range of socio-economic and
political issues in Pakistan.
7. Youth Peace and Development Corps:
YPDC is an initiative by the Planning commission of Pakistan in the light of vision 2025 to
establish a link between the Youth and the Planning Commission. The key objective of YPDC is
to directly involve youth in the socio-economic development of Pakistan and generate a citizen
a feedback system that prioritizes issues and shapes the paradigm in which all actors can act
together in a cohesively productive manner.
8. International Union for Conservation of Nature:
International Union for Conservation of Nature or IUCN is a chapter under the Sustainability
Club. It is the world's oldest and largest global environmental organization. IUCN works on
conservation, environmental and ecology projects across the globe. Members of this chapter
work closely with the parent organization in identifying projects around these objectives and
identifying possible solutions for them. As a member, all you need is a conscientious mind and a
love for nature to do your share for the cause.
9. Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers:
IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing
technology for the benefit of humanity. It is a chapter that operates under CSEC. IEEE works
on the mission to drive global innovation, enhance public understanding of engineering, be a
trusted source of educational services, and inspiring a world of communities that advance
technical interest. As a member, you will work with the parent organization in achieving their
mission through awareness sessions and workshops.
